The science behind EM®
EM is the abbreviation for Effective Microorganisms, a term coined by its discoverer, the Japanese agricultural scientist and university professor, Prof. Dr. Teruo Higa. EM technology has been in use around the globe since 1982.
EM·1® is a multimicrobial mixture primarily consisting of lactic acid and phototrophic bacteria, yeast and ferment-active fungi. When this mixture of naturally occurring and non genetically manipulated microorganisms comes into contact with organic materials, the microorganisms produce an abundance of natural substances such as vitamins, organic acids, minerals and various antioxidants

Sizing details
In order to accurately measure your pet, use a soft,cloth seamstresses tape measure and measure around the pets neck with 1 – 2 fingers under the tape measure. If you don’t have a cloth tape measure, use a piece of string and mark where the length meets the end, again with 1 – 2 fingers under the string.
The size you order will be the will be the length of the braid. There will approximately 6 inches of cord beyond the length of the braid which will permit you to open the collar large enough to slide over the pets head, you can then tighten the collar to the size of the pets neck.
How long do the collars last?
The feedback which has been received from customers in high Tick infested areas. Indicates that you can expect a collar to last 6 – 8 months.
Care instructions
After the collar is initially “charged” by soaking it in clean water for 1 -2 hours and hung in the sun until it is dry, it should be placed on the pet and worn 24 hours per day.
If the collar becomes dirty or caked with mud, it should be cleaned in clear water with a soft brush. You should not apply any other chemicals or solutions to the EM beads as this may adversely effect the performance of the Effective Microorganisms.
Are the EM beads or collars toxic to pets or children?
One of the benefits of the EM collars is their safety. The EM beads are used in Japan for the treatment of drinking water which ensures they are non-toxic to other pets and children if touched or handled.
